I'll add to those

Mr Blue Sky bow biggrin
Rockaria!
Confusion
Hold On Tight
Livin' Thing
Rock and Roll Is King
Roll over Beethoven
Xanadu
( whole album actually mr.green)

I also heard rumours that Pandurtio and Anx really hate ELO... that's so sad confused

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I like them, though I've never dug much deeper than having a few singles comps and checking out the odd album track here and there.

Not so long ago,I bought an excellent ELO compilation:

Mr.Blue Sky
Evil Woman
Don't Bring Me Down
Sweet Talkin' Woman
Shine A Little Love
Turn To Stone
Diary Of Horace Wimp
Confusion
Hold On Tight
Livin' Thing
Telephone Line
All Over The World
Wild West Hero
Showdown
Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle
Xanadu
Rockaria
Strange Magic
Alright
Rock N' Roll Is King

There are a few minor flaws with this compilation....it's missing "Can't Get It Out Of Head" and "Do Ya",two of their best singles. Also, the version of "Xanadu" on this CD doesn't even feature Olivia Newton John mad Still,it's probably the best single-disc ELO compilation on the market right now.

as far as i'm concerned, "out of the blue" and the xanadu soundtrack is all the ELO i need, though "discovery" comes close. the more over-the-top and ridiculously pretentious they sound, the more i love them.

I can never get tired of listening to the Xanadu soundtrack. Their other albums though, I enjoy in small doses, not because the music is bad, just that many of those songs were played to death on the radio back in the day.

I know the "out of the blue" album very well. My dad still loves it. ELO did actually go on the road, with strings and everything.

No doubt I will actually be into ELO soon, as I love studio bands like ELO, with hyper polished production etc...

I am telling you guys...go over to iTunes or Amazon or somewhere to hear a snippet of "Surrender"...this is the "Never Heard Before" track on the remastered version of New World Record. It's one of the best pop songs I have heard in ages. It's positively irresistable. Dripping of Beatles/British pop...but has the oh-so-crisp ELO/Jeff Lynne production. I can't get enough of this song!

As for all of ELO's stuff...My faves:

New World Record (obviously)
Face The Music
Time
Secret Messages
Zoom

...I love Xanadu too...its so funny how this has become one of ELO's trademark albums...Jeff Lynne tried for years to distance himself from it. He blames it for ending his popularity in the US. But no one can deny its glossy appeal. It has aged surprisingly well.

Disco-very isn't one of my faves...only because Jeff went a little too disco for my tastes on that one...but it sure rocks at times. Don't Let Me Down is a classic.

That's the one I've got also. My favorite is "Shine A Little Love". I hate the version of "Xanadu" that is on this compilation but I have the regular version on Olivia Newton John's greatest hits so I wasn't pissed.
