That shit was not LIVE. falloff
Pure lip-sync, and not even a good one. His band (and I use that term loosely) wasn't even attempting to pretend to know how to play the instruments or sing the background vocals, which were identical to the album version of the song as were Jermaine's lead singing.

'live' .... please

This was posted on youtube as a comment about the video:

I've met Jermaine a few times this past year through my job. I showed him this link. He laughed and said he had those girls there purposely doing nothing so the focus was on him at all times. Also he said the suit was intentional for the song. He wanted to project a non personal image for the performance. Thus the song's title. "When your in a business suit it's never personal." he said to me.. then gave his slanted smile. So now you all know.

I found that quite interesting.

So Jermaine is not the sharpest knife in the drawer is what you're pointing out right? If he wanted the focus totally on him then the women wouldn't have been there at all. lol

I like this one:

Great song love the chorus but this was typical of the '80's...get a couple of skinny models and have them play air guitar. Jermaine witout the guitar had no stage presence he was just standing there in a suit preparing for a job interview

biggrin

What do you expect from a dude who names his kid 'Jermajesty'?

On the serious note, Jermaine was under rated. That Jackson clan was a powerhouse of performers and singers. I hope they can all pull it together and work as a group again.

I can't see the clip. Which one is that "Let's Get Serious"? When it comes to Jermaine Jackson, I love the "Let's Get Serious" album. After that, the only Jermaine Jackson songs I can think of that I like is "Paradise In Your Eyes" and "Let Me Tickle Your Fancy". Later, Jermaine had become too adult contemporary sounding for my taste. You know he recorded a song with Shitney before she even had her first album. lol

"That's How Love Goes" with the J5 and Randy backing him.

I should have known it was from the 1970s. Funkenstein doesn't like much stuff from the 1980s. However, I think he might like some of the "Let's Get Serious" album.

I've seen the 'Let's Get Serious' album on my vinyl digs, but it's overtly 80's looking cover has always scared me away lol
I do like 'Let's Get Serious' to some extent though, but I prefer the stuff he did in the 70's. I've got all his 70's albums except 'Frontiers' (released in '78).

I only like the first couple of years from the 80's lol
They still made music that didn't sound too plastic up till '82-'83 or so. After that... disbelief

FRONTIERS is definitely a funk album , but it is hard to find because it's rare. I am so glad my cousin brought it for me when it came out. Great Album! biggrin
