Shawntae “Da Brat” Harris, 34, has been sentenced to 3 years in prison, Friday, as a result of hitting and slashing a women in the face with a bottle of rum last Halloween. TMZ is reporting that Da Brat will also receive 7 years probation.

About six members of Harris’ family wept when a sheriff’s deputy took her into custody. “I love y’all,” Da Brat said as she was led out of the courtroom. “We love you, too,” the relatives replied in unison.

The incident happened at a Halloween party at Studio 72 nightclub (owned by Jermaine Dupri) last year. The rapper got into an altercation with the waitress and was said to have picked up a bottle of rum and smashed it into the women’s face. The victim was taken to the hospital with cuts to her face and above her eyes. The woman suffered permanent facial scarring.

Why is it that only the female rappers are being hit with Jail sentences ?
I mean she fucked up and derserve what she gets but so many male rappers seem to get off with a slap on the wrist
