JERMAINE'S BOOZE BACKFIRE

JERMAINE Dupri had a little too much of a good time celebrating his 36th birthday. The other night, Dupri and his squeeze, Janet Jackson, went to Tenjune, where, spies say, they shared bottles of Jay-Z's Ace of Spades Champagne and PatrĂ³n tequila with Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes and Ice-T - until Dupri "vomited in Janet's lap. Ms. Jackson bolted out of the scene and sped off in her chauffeured Maybach." A rep for Jackson and Dupri didn't return calls. A rep for Tenjune declined to comment. Meanwhile, we hear Dupri is under some stress at work. The head of urban music for Island/Def Jam put out his lady's last album, "Discipline," which flopped. Our insider said, "[IDJ head] L.A. Reid had wanted to make changes to the album, make it fresher with some newer artists added in, but Janet said no - and Jermaine backed her up. He looks silly right now."

Did LA Reid actually suggest that? I wonder how young? Like Chris Brown young?

Very probable. This is the reason Patti Labelle fell out with LA Reid.
They were suppose to begin work on her new project and she was put on
the backburner because LA Reid was trying to sign and groom this new
young protege female. Patti basically said the hell with this i can
tour on my own terms and make money.

Suffering from puke burns to her lap perhaps?

From yahoo news:

Publicist says Janet Jackson is Hospitalized

NEW YORK - A representative for Janet Jackson says the singer has been hospitalized after falling ill shortly before a concert.

According to statement released by W&W Public Relations, the singer canceled her concert in Montreal on Monday after she "got suddenly ill" during her sound check and had to be rushed to the hospital just before show time.

The statement says Jackson is being monitored at the hospital and hopes to reschedule the show. No further information was given about Jackson's condition.

A phone call placed to W&W after hours went unanswered, and a representative did not immediately return an e-mail seeking more information.

Jackson, 42, is on a North American tour.

I hope she's okay, though.

hmmm Didn't Jermaine recently quit his job at Island/Def Jam? The same way he left Virgin when Janet was flopping over there too? I guess he'll continue to follow her from label to label, and leave when she leaves too...lol...hey,at least he's loyal.

Eventually they'll run out of labels.

Honestly i could see LA wanting to do that, but i also can see LA saying that JD needed to be off the album and his input needed to be zero! But i can understand Janet or any other artist that has been around all of a sudden being told "what you need to do to sell"

Seriously, i mean how many "blames" can keep going around until he looks in the mirror and realizes that no one is feeling the whole JD influence.

Egal.

I'm an old woman who has been in the presence of many a high profile music person that had this sort of "mishap". Tasteless and misguided, perhaps yes. But I recall the time when these sort of happnings were without internet paparazzi media on your tail 24-7 and these things were restricted to private booths or limos and no on said a word. I came up in the late 80's and early 90's club kid culture that was literally fed by the olde gaurde of Studio 54, Regine's, The Copa, Suzanne Bartsch, Warsaw Ballroom, etc... and NO ONE capitalized on these kinds of stories back in the day. Whether this report is true or not, having too much too drink with an accident is nothing new in nightlife...although somehow they've managed to make it "titilating" now that we have more cameras around. In any case, hope that all parties involved are well and the Jackson--Dupris get everything back on track soon. peace
