The Best of titled "In My House" is the best I think.

There was another best of released in the UK with a limo on the cover, it had a few different tracks, but only album tracks from the 2nd album I think, "In My House" is the best MJG Best Of.

There are several unreleased Rick James recordings that I know of.In the late 60s,as you pointed out,he was in a band with Neil Young called The Mynah Birds.They completed a whole album for Motown,but it was never released.There are also a few solo Rick James singles,pre-Motown.In the early 70s,Rick was in another band called The Great White Cane and in 1972,they completed an album.A single called "Mother Earth" was released.

There is also an unreleased Mary Jane Girls album from 1986.This would have been their third album.It was produced by Rick James and titled 'Conversation'.One of the tracks is "Walk Like A Man",a remake of the old Four Seasons hit that appeared in a Ted Danson comedy.Rick was feuding with Motown in '86,and there was a tug-of-war situation regarding the Mary Jane Girls.Motown was willing to let Rick out of his contract,but they wanted to keep The Mary Jane Girls and pair them up with producers Jam and Lewis for a new album.Somehow,Rick convinced the girls to refuse Motown's offer,and they left the label right along with James.Unfortunately,they never signed with another label or recorded any other albums.Rick signed with Warner Bros,and reached the top of the R&B charts in 1988 with "Loosey's Rap".A follow-up album titled 'Kickin' was rejected by Warners in 1989,and he spent most of the 90s without a record deal.

Hopefully,one day,Motown will finally release the 'Conversation' album.They could release a Mary Jane Girls greatest hits set,and add 'Convseration' as a bonus second disc.

This brings back unfortunate memories of my early teens. I never heard their music but there was a poster of them in a weekly pop mag that I kept for a long time and was very keen on. It was the slightly butch girl in the leather mini skirt that was the major source of fascination for me at the time.

Forgotten all about that. lol.
