even though I was watching that travesty of an awards show on and off (mostly watching Bernie Mac), I was disgusted that Dustbin took an award that he has no business being near...especially when George Harrison and Warren Zevon were in that category...

Watching Justin try to bounce around in front of a piano like Stevie Wonder was painful, as was Christina's rigid movements (was her right arm broken or something?!) and forced vocals. Neither of them are middle-aged soul superstars, I wish they would quit trying to act like it. It's like bad Kareoke. | |

I'm glad Janet didn't go on tonight's broadcast. She is a lady of her word and she is not going to bow down to the whims of some asinine people. Justin's a complete brown noser. I will be sure to buy 5 copies of Janet's new album when it comes out.

Isn't that bowing down to "the whims of some asinine people"? Yes it is, because if she actually believed in herself and her stunt, she wouldn't have backed down. She surrendered to the whims of her publicists. Yeah, that displays a lot of integrity and backbone there. Nice way to let Justin take the fall publicly (he almost lost his $6 million McDonald's endorsement deal) while playing up the "hurt, lost little girl with the baby doll voice" persona she trots out when she needs to use it. If Janet had gone to the Grammys she would have had to issue an apology on air. The thing is the only time she would have been on stage is when she introduced the tribute to Luther Vandross. That would have looked really tacky and disrespectful to talk about yourself and your problems when it's suppose to be about Luther. Janet did the right thing by not going. | |
