I saw the video on BET recently and I had a hard time with it. I have no problem saying that I feel like he's being hypocritical. It just doesn't seem real to me with what he's singing.

I am not a fan of R Kelly, but I do know that he had some inspirational gospel-like songs before this scandal broke out. Around '97 he had announce that he was going to start doing gospel music and hooked up with Kurt Franklin, but that didn't last long.

He performed this song many months ago on an awards show before it was released as a single.

It was a powerful song then and still is now. When I saw him on T.V. performing it, I couldn't turn away even though I wanted to ( I'm a conflicted Kelly fan-- some of his music is very good but I don't like him as a person).

I didn't like the fact that the song was coming from him. But I was torn between awe and disgust.


As is his signature, he's delivers song topics in such a relatable way that it's contagious. I'm sure a lot of so-called sinners relate to this song and the situations he illustrates.

I definitely think God is not a domain exclusively for the righteous. Sinners have always sang about God. So I think with all the turmoil in Kelly's life this is expected, maybe even appropos.

I'm not religious. I used to be. And the song reminded me a lot of the power of gospel.

However, I must say that my mom is a very religious church-going woman and she won't listen to this song at all.

It was on the radio, and I told her that it was an R.Kelley song and she emphatically said she didn't care if he was singing about God, she did not want to hear it ... and walked off.

R. KELLY MAKES MY ASS ACHE. I'VE BEEN A HATER OF HIM SINCE DAY ONE! I'VE BEEN TELLING PEOPLE THAT'S SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WITH HIM FROM THE BEGINNING AND SURE AS SHIT STANK HIS DOES ALL THESE FOUL THINGS AND EXPECT PEOPLE TO OPEN THEIR ARMS AND FORGIVE HIM. THIS DUMB ASS SONG "U SAVED ME" IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE. R. KELLY CAN GO TO HELL AND STAY THERE!
