Jesse Johnson confirmed for "Family Jamm!"

Official web page for the "Family Jamm!" event:
http://www.lilangelbunny.com/?fa=event6
also: http://www.sheilae.com/wh...index.html

We're in high gear adding musicians to the lineup of the "Family Jamm!". Just confirmed: singer, songwriter and producer Jesse Johnson, former lead guitarist of "The Time". There's now an official page and web poster for the "Family Jamm!" on the Lil' Angel Bunny Foundation (LABF) website: http://www.lilangelbunny....fa=event6. Up-to-date information and all of the details about the show which will raise money for LABF to benefit abused and abandoned children can be found on this page. We will have more big announcements and information about show date and ticket sales in the following weeks...be sure to check back with this site to see who else has been added.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in. Ian]

All my fave Prince spin-offs are confirmed: Wendy & Lisa! Jesse Johnson! Sheila! - This is so incredible!

Oh, I SO wish I could be there. Unfortunately, having just bought an apartment, it will be quite awhile before I can afford to go travelling again sigh

I hope Sheila E. is smart enough to realize that there is a market for a video/DVD recording of this event. I certainly hope and pray there will be one, so I wont miss out even if cannot attend.

Man, this event should be telecast!

At the very least, If it was filmed and released as a DVD (with extras such as a doco with all involved talking about those days, and how the whole reunion thing came 2gether) all the money raised from it can go to her charity.

So, ...everyone that attends this concert would buy a DVD (just to say "Hey, I was there") and that would increase the amount going to the charity, plus all the other fams in the US and overseas who aren't able 2 attend would buy one as well 2 check out.

Sheila, please consider this, It would do alot for the charity!

According to the liner notes to the Jesse Johnson: Ultimate Collection CD (notes written in March 2000 by a Tim Glover):

"Today, Jesse is a man who loves his solitude. He has worked on scoring movies (A Time To Kill) and currently has a deal with Rondor Music International Publishing to write songs for other artists to record."

Jesse Johnson has been writing and producing out in Los Angeles. In fact, Rio Soul (who is a talented singer www.riosoul.com) and I were conversing via email and at that moment, Jesse Johnson was in her family's living room.

So, he is vibrant and I am sure has some killer jams to unleash.

Why do fans believe that the decision to release material is solely up to the artists? Even if Sheila is "smart enough" to know there is a market, there are marketing people that make that call. THis is why Prince had to get away from the industry. He did not want someone else making these kinds of calls. I would submit that there are still some parameters within which Prince has to work when the decision to release new material is being made. Production costs, marketin, joint alliances like the one with Universal for the DVD - all have to going througfh more than the whim of the artist to actually get done

This is just amazing.

I never thought I'd see something like this! I'm thrilled period!

I'm officially saving for this event, no question.

Using all the old images and photos, is great!

Jesse! Oh my god. Next will be Jimmy Jam! And Dr. Fink better be Working That Fat to match that photo!!

All I can predict is that I do think there will be a Madhouse reunion with Sheila on Drums...The Family will be together with St. Paul!!! Oh my god nuts !

Then there's The Time with I hope...Jimmy and Terry!

Now Carmen Electra...engh shrug ...sure she had an album on Paisley Park, did the whole Glam Slam Ulysses thing, ...they might as well invite Monie Love or who else(?)...GOOD QUESTION! Hee heee! headbang

I'll be going to purchase the posters and t-shirts and maybe the consessions when Carmen shows up on stage.

This is just snow balling into a bigger must go event. I think it will attract the attention of WB. Maybe new consideration will be given to those old albums and acts again by the record companies...maybe, just maybe they'll think about re-mastering and re-issueing all those acts from the MPLS sound! Makes my head itch just thinking about it!

One of the things is that Sheila really should be commended for this. All this to help kids, you know...and getting together people that we'd never think we'd see together again. The magic reunited for all to see what real FUNK is and always will be woot! !

Thank you Sheila hug !!!

It said in the release that Jesse would be jamming with members of the Time plus it said St Paul would be playing with the Family so I guess you have atleast Jerome and jellybean there. I know for a fact Tori wants to jam with Jesse and that would kick ass. All you need to do now is get Morris down there and from what I've been hearing that shouldnt be a problem
