Ultimate Live Experience, March 95, Manchester

NPS Tour, Aug 98, London

ONA Tour, Oct 2002, Manchester
.
Hit N Run, 22 Feb 2014, Manchester Academy.
.
That 2014 last show was probably the best night of my life. Sounds mad but to be 10 mtrs from him in a small venue playing likes of Endorphinmachine, Bambi and that version of Something In The Water he put on YouTube was like an out of body experience.

The only one I've been able to see was the Lovesexy Tour in Los Angeles. I think it was the first of two nights. It was pretty incredible. I had a seat just up and to the right of Sheila's drums. I was only slightly above eye level with her. So a very good seat. It was magical, and it changed my life.

Wow! That sounds amazing!!!

Saw about 30 shows staritng with the D&P tour at Wembley Stadium. After that I saw at least two shows from each tour that hit the UK. Most of the shows were during 21 nights in London, where I saw 12 main shows and 7 after show performances. 2007 was a truly amamzing time to be living about 40 minutes drive from the O2. I had pre bought some tickets. but most I got on the day. It turned out that most shows had some unsold VIP seats and they'd turn up last minute on Ticketmaster for the standard price of £31.21. A lot of refreshing was reuqired but it was definitely worth it!

Yes!

Good Topic. I just only got a chance to view that Glam Slam '92 disc.

4 shows:

1. Love 4 One Another . April 28, 1997 just had an anniversary didn't even realize it.

America West Arena, Phoenix, AZ

Started way late. There was a line around the arena took a long time to get in with purchsed tickets in hand. Played for well over 2 hours. Right side of stage great view for our first show.

2. Jam of the Year. October 25, 1997. Desert Sky Pallivan. Phoenix, AZ.

Partically outside venue. Very nice. Bought the day of believe it or not. Denver airport was snowed in and we couldn't go to our work convention.

Even though it was the same year. a lot of different songs were played. Larry Graham opened for him.

3. One Nite Alone... April 26, 2002 Dodge theatre. Phoenix, AZ. I was in the NPGMC but I couldn't get up to the soundcheck which was $120 at the time. Still a great show and another concert where he played a ,ot of different stuff AGAIN!

4. My final show but definitely didn't realize. Musicology Live 2004ever. March 31, 2004. Glendale Arena. Glendale, Az.New at the time same spot they did the Super Bowl.

The stage was around but we were center cut about 12 rows back. I think they were purchased through NPGMC but not for certain. Very long show. $75 what a steal with today's concert prices!

I almost bought this show but I had commitments with my daughter's softball team and truley didn't think this would be the last time he came to my state:( besides couldn't get myself to pay the fee.

Live Out Loud

April 30 and May 1, I think 2013.

Marquee Theatre, Phoenix, Az. very small venue.

I thought the ticket prices were SOO expensive. i may have even posted it on here or replied to another post. $250. I just couldn't justify that for just me.

Little did we know that T Swift was going to show everyone what you could charge for a ticket.

Anyhow, what a performer.

All the bands were so great.

Great memories, Great times, Great music.

2001 Denver(Aurora?) Hit N Run

It was a gift from girlfriend. I was a "big" fan, but I knew nothing (Born in Nineteen Hundred, Eight-Two). Plus he wasn't really playing hits, so I was a little bit "confused". But I got a long kiss during Purple Rain, so even as an introvert, I gave it two thumbs up.

I wish it was more, but glad I saw him with my wife a number of times.

.

1. Jam of the Year, San Antonio Alamodome. The shittiest place to see a concert that you can imagine. The sound was awful but the show was great.

.
2. JOTY aftershow in San Antonio at a club named Pirahna's. We stood maybe 15 feet away from the band and had a clear view of a backstage area, where we saw Prince talking with the band and crew.

.

3. JOTY, Austin, Frank Erwin Center (recently demolished).

.
4. One Nite Alone in Houston at the Verizon Theatre. We had soundcheck passes from NPGMC and were in row 3 or 4 of the pretty small theatre, which sat 2400. As we were all let in, the band was playing Let's Work, but no Prince on stage. We took our seets way up front and then everyone in the soundcheck noticed that Prince was sitting in the middle of the theatre behind us. Prince sat on the edge of the stage for a Q&A after they did the sound check, and my wife got to touch a symbol guitar by casually walking by; his guitars were sitting at audience level with no one around. I didn't have the balls to even approach one. On the circulating audio of the Houston ONA show, we can hear our own voices screaming. The taper was right in front of us in a very obvious long coat, which you don't exactly see a lot in South Texas.

.

5. Musicology in San Antonio, AT&T Center (now Frost Bank Center). We had Purple Circle tickets on the floor, maybe 8 feet from the elevated stage in the round. San Antonio Spurs legend George "Ice Man" Gervin sat right behind us. My wife was pregnant with our first child (didn't know it was a boy at the time) and work a t-shirt saying BABY'S FIRST PRINCE CONCERT.

.

6. Musicology in Dallas. My wife was even more pregnant, and wore the same shirt with a change to BABY'S FIRST SECOND PRINCE CONCERT. Erykah Badu joined the band on stage.

.

Great memories!

I was at those two JOTY shows. I remember having to go to a department store in the mall very early to try and get the best tix. Such a strange and funny system looking back on it. Was maybe 15th row or so in Austin on floor. I actually recorded those shows on a little tape recorder and probably have them somewhere.

2. JOTY aftershow in San Antonio at a club named Pirahna's. We stood maybe 15 feet away from the band and had a clear view of a backstage area, where we saw Prince talking with the band and crew.

Pretty sure I still have the newspaper ads and concert reviews cutout too.

Sweet! I think I spent hours on the phone and ended up miles away from the stage in the Alamodome and paid a crap-ton. It was terrible. The Austin show was definitely a better experience.

At the 95 wembley show i went to there was a card with info on an aftershow being passed around the audience. I couldn't go for a reason i cant remember now but remember that feeling like a hige missed opportunity. I made do by buying a stars n bars bootleg later on.

That was for the the aftershows at the Emporium Night club. Shame you didn't jump in a cab and get down there. They were both superb gigs.

Nude Tour, Wembley 1990 (twice) - front row for one of them!

Diamonds & Pearls tour

Wembley Stadium gig

and the last time.. One Nite Alone at Hammersmith Apollo - I was a member of the NPGMC at the time so we got into the soundcheck & I was in the 8th row! Hands-down the best concert I have ever been to.

Can you remember which night of the One Nite Alone Tour. Oct 3rd, 4th or 5th?
