You can't really blame people. When you leave so much room in between your post, you leave so much room for the imagination to run.

One question(it's a scale question): MSG, Hammerstein, Irving Plaza or Butter?

Well, I'll be different from the bunch and NOT bash Gray. See everyone, the good thing about this is it's not like we're going to be brewing on this for months and months... He has made some statements that may or may not be true. But don't get your panties in a bunch - we only have to wait 11 days to see if he is lying or telling the truth. Why don't you save the bashing til then? Maybe he really is right... if so, he's just trying to give us some good news! If some of the posters of this thread would read THE WHOLE THING, instead of re=asking the same questions, you will see he has already answered some.

If you are not just messing with people, then we thank you very much for the information.

We will see in only 11 days or less.

I think it's that this is like the 2nd thread he's started regarding said topic.

Yay Prince! woot! (insert pom pom shake & kicky-jump here).

lol

Seriously though, maybe Prince, Tamar & Twinz are going to kick off whatever big sporting event happens in late July/August. (What would that be--World Cup is done, World Series is in October, NBA is over, NFL hasn't started).

Graycap I'm not trying to pick on you, just having a little fun while waiting to see what materializes.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

He says things. That's different than knowing things.
I like him and if he's making this up I'll secretly like him more, but you don't believe people simply because you want to or because they are likable.

Gonna take a bit more for me.
I'll be patient, though.

I still like Metal's idea. A song lyric (even partial) from a new song...if there is one. Even the song title would give him more cred.

Hopefully this weekend it will drop...if he's doing a Hit and Run tour, will tickets be sold on ticketmaster, or directly at the venue the same day? How did the past shows work?

o.k. apology to Grey. I missed the "Zapp" reply and the "2" threw me off...thought it was a song I didn't know.
Anyway, that would be pretty cool. One last question:

or maybe he's trying to say "

& hope that Prince shows on a whim."

It might be a number for all to call. That would be cool because I'm not a member. But it would be cooler if it is a number for members.

It that's it, will it be as big a disaster as the Crystal Ball orders? disbelief

Maybe he wants people to pay for tickets in advance, and he'll only tour if enough tickets sell? wink

What's a "Crystal Ball order"?

In terms of disaster...I'm not aware of how orders were processed at NPGMC. Maybe they will create an app that sits on the front-end and direct those with passwords/accounts to a discounted payment solution. The simplest way would be to have one payment solution and then to make it up to members later. Who knows?

This is all fun speculation because, for all we know, Gray could be some guy living in his mother's basement in Peoria.
There may be no show...and maybe there was never a plan for a show but if there is, I'm sure it will be well thought out.

Crystal Ball was originally available to order through 1800 New Funk which was his first attempt at a 'direct-to-fans' website and that was also the phone number you could ring for merchandise. Prince took orders for the album but said he would only release it once there were something like 100 or 150 thousand orders. It was touted as an exclusive offer for fans only.

Months later, and suddenly the Crystal Ball package appeared in record shops, before the online orders had even been sent out, so hardly exclusive to patient fans. Some people complained they never received their order or their order was lost. All in all it was regarded as a disaster for relations with fans, though I tend to think, hey, it was one of the first attempts by anyone of selling an album like this, so of course there were glitches. Of course if the glitch happened to you, you're far less forgiving.
