Don't get me wrong,I loves me some Sheila, but, she really needs to knock it off with the "surprise musical guest" slogan at every event her and Lynn Mabry put together.
You know full and well that Sheila E. fans are going to immediately think "surprise musical guest"=Prince.
C'mon Sheila and Lynn Mabry, give us a little more credit than that!
PRINCE WILL NOT BE THE "SURPRISE MUSICAL GUEST" FOR THIS EVENT,just a heads-up.

Agree... And about the auctions - It might be a good idea to drop the bid price when none jump at the starting amount.

Shiela E.did a charity show last month here in Santa Barbara....The Black and Blue Ball for M.S. it was actually kind of boring. I was not impressed at all. She did her usual tunes, and dare I say..she did not look so good close up. She is not aging well.
I even had to feel embarrassed for her when she tried to do "alphabet street" it was a sad version, completly butchered the song. Only highlight of the night was when she brought up Rhonda to the stage.

hmmm Prince?! Somehow I doubt it, but I agree...it sure seems calculated to make people THINK it MIGHT be him!

I would like ot know more about the show.... the band etc... Was it open to the public?

And I don't want to start an argument, but I have to disagree with your comment about her not aging well.

I was lucky enough to meet her twice, one of which times I spent almost 2 hours with her up close an personal, and she looked amazing. I was about 4 inches from her, and we were talking face to face. so it was natural, not lighting or make up. etc. And this was last only lastMay.

We all have "off" days smile so maybe that was the deal at that show, but I'd say she is aging beautifully smile

Well maybe it was the stage make-up that made her look tired. She was heavily made-up. Oh yes, and she had really wild hair, it would have looked better had it been done up. Yes, it was open to the public, at $125.00 per ticket. It was a charity event including dinner and some local artists. As to your question about the band, I am sorry to say I am not very savy as to the names present.
I do know that our local community cable access channel, has done a few replays of the concert. I saw it on t.v. here, about 2 weeks ago. She of course did "the glamorous life" which was good. She also did "a love bizarre" which to me is just not the same without Prince vocals in it.

Thanks for the info. Tha'ts cool you saw it on TV> I would love to see that.

Perseonally, I prefer the way SHeila does Love Bizarre live..... it's basically using the added musical parts from the way Prince and She do it on the Romance 1600 live video, but slowed down and jazzier.

It's morea bout the music and the vibe than the vocals.
