Does anyone know where and what Jesse Johnson has been up to?

I know that I read something on this site about him producing some girl group with Joss Stone and Terry from EnVogue but this sounds hard to believe due to the fact that Joss Stone doesn't need to be in a group (her solo albums are doing fine)and Terry and the entire EnVogue clan are due to make a cd after their reunion on VH1 Rap Honors show.
P.S. Why did Morris kick him out of the reformed Time?

Didn't know Morris kicked him out this last time. What's the story with that? Regarding Jesse, after he made that rock album, he was hanging around the New Orleans music scene for a few years (this is directly from Bobby Z).
~And even when I'm right, I'll be wrong...it's Automatic too.

I don't think Jesse was ever part of the new Time to be kicked out. He just did that one New Year's Eve show with them and that's it. I saw Terry Lewis perform with the reformed Time once a few years back, but because he's not a regular member doesn't mean he was kicked out also.

Do you mean when The Time reformed in 1990? Jesse was kicked out back then because of his problems with drugs and the law. Rolling Stone published an article stating he had been arrested for brandishing a gun and threatening to shoot his wife and himself.

Yeah,
I remember that whole thing but whats up with him now? It's almost like he fell off the face of the earth.I hope that the drugs and alcohol didn't get the best of him. He's one of the most talented people to come out of that whole Minneapolis scene confuse

I agree. I was pleasantly surprised by by the rock numbers in his Greatest Hits Cd. That was a side we seldom saw when he was in the Time and a solo act. Drugs and alcohol have robbed us of so many great talents its' depressing. Hopefully, Jesse is one of the few fortunate enough to escape it's tentacles..

Sadly, that's the case with most of Prince's ex-proteges and bandmembers. When they stop working with him,we don't hear about them anymore (Jesse,Andre Cymone,Gayle Chapman, etc).

Amen, brother! Tony M is the strongest evidence yet that Prince may've been addicted to drugs in the 90's....
