Does anyone know if his performance is going to be at the beginning or the end of the show. Because honestly I dont want to have to sit through the whole thing if I dont have too.

The only thing I do not know is the 2 covers done by other musicians on stage. That is because the people behind me were still screaming for Prince when he was away from the mic.

It was not John Blackwell on stage. It was another male drummer wearing a hat.

The band had at least 4 sax players. Mr. Hayes was working the Apple comp while playing keyboard and their was another keyboardist right next to him. You had Prince's all the way to the right (from a viewers standpoint.) You had Sheila set up right by the front of the stage facing left.

People are worried about it getting edited down. Let me tell you, it is only a 2 hour broadcast but it should have been 3. A LOT of stuff is going to have to be cut. You had Stevie performing. Yolonda Adams. Fantasia. The Blind boys of Alabama n a few others. Oprah talked 4 awhile and Jamie thanked everyone and thier momma. The female cast of Ray won and it was mentioned in Jamie and the director's speech so can't cut that out. Maybe some of the soap awards and stuff. Prince's award was the biggy of the night so let's hope they keep everything in tact. We won't know til it airs.

Close to the end. They taped the ending before his performance. So I would say like the last hour but not close to the very end because of the Awards that follow him. So, you will have to stick it out towards the end to see it. Will not be the first performance.

man oh man.... I took a really good look at his face when i saw the lovesexy dvd (finally) this morning

then i looked real close at these pictures. he really does not look much older at all... and that i think his particular style of the moment is aging him

Aw man, forget his damn "beauty" and shit!! From the report it sounds like he jammed his ass off!! I just hope it comes across that way (i.e. no schmaltzy arrangements and NO editing)!!!! Plus, how great will it be to see Morris & Jerome again (though I'm so damn tired of hearing them do The Bird or Jungle Love!!; how about Get It Up or Cool for once, huh?).

....It's interesting cuz I was just watching the Atlanta 85 Purple Rain show, and I always get near misty-eyed when watching him and the Revolution (plus Jerome and Sheila) turn shit out on "Baby, I'm A Star"!! That's the passion and funk I think we all miss in his music/performances these days. Ahhh, to be young again, I suppose. But it's all in how you feel, right? Right. So, Prince...feel 20 years younger already, dammit!!!

*back from commercial break/thoughts running astray*...I just hope this male drummer isn't our good ol' friend Kirky J. LMAO!! And, couldn't he have gotten some more of the SOTT/Lovesexy band reunited on that stage instead of his '97 Hit-N-Run Tour band up there?!!? Where was Eric, Atlanta, Miko, & Levi when ya needed them?! Ah well...as always, it's nice to have Sheila in the fold with him.
