MJ lipsynced super bowl

Something i found online on some article

6. Michael Jackson at Super Bowl XXVII: In what has to be the most bizarre Super Bowl halftime performance ever, Jackson sang a medley of his hits while being joined on stage (around the stage, actually) by 3,500 children. Michael Jackson and 3,500 children. I'll leave it at that. The best part of the clip comes at the 1:20ish mark when Michael is giving a speech about remaking the planet into a haven of joy while holding a microphone, but then quickly has to start singing and completely botches the lip synching.

He lipsynced all his important TV performances. Only appropriate for the king of pop.

I think I posted this whole article at one point. This the one that also mentions Carl Lewis and Marvin Gaye's performances?

Call me simple, but I think the intro is cool.

Of course he lips synced it. He lip syncs everything! Well a good 95% of this career.

He didnt perform on Arsenio, because you had to sing live, it was the rules.

He didnt perform at the Rock Hall because you have to sing live, so what did he do. Put a fake cast on his leg. It was the Rock Hall, sit down, sing some songs, just like he did on Soul Train when he lip synced there.

MJ has been exposed a long time ago of having probably 1/16th of the talent he pretends he has.

Yeah, if you want hate on Michael for lipsyncing, that is your business. However, that doesn't mean he isn't talented. And it doesn't make him less of a talent either.

I wish Michael would sing live, only to shut you whiners up. Prince is like the first performer is Superbowl history not to lipsync his performance. Btw, he hasn't lip-synced ALL his major TV performances. The 88 Grammy's was half lip-synced and half live. The live half had everybody giving him a standing ovation, and even Stevie Wonder was in awe. He did some live vocals during the 01 MSG concerts. He did another half and half performance at the 96 Brits awards. the 06 WMA's was live, but very short. He did some live vocals during the YANA portion of his 95 VMA's performance.

some of you people here are so worried about michael jackson, that if you really look the stats this should be the michael jackson/prince board, if you go to mikes board , or any of his boards no ones even mention prince name unless somethings happening with him....

point blank mikes half time was way better than prince, that was prince biggest audience, and thats all he brought....all the songs he has he's during other peoples songs, people who wouldn't cover him at a time like that.....say what you want prince, or nobody else would ever be bigger than that other dude, you speak of mike singing, but you leave out the fact he's done this since a damn child, but you leave out that prince walked with g-strings on, did things that his ashamed of now, both of those guys are great, super-bad artist, lets stop comparing these brothers, because out of prince own mouth mikes a genius, and i'm sure mike feels the same about him, and start comparing prince to other acts.....

U2 didn't lipsynch in 2002.

.

I'd understand it if an artist gets nervous over performing live in there

afterall, it's the Super friggin' Bowl, and that's millions of people watching you which's more than enough to make you sweat over each and every note you sing.

Stage fright at such moments wouldn't take anything from an artist's talent.

I like both Michael and Prince, actually I was an MJ fan before I really got into Prince. Now P is to me 100 times better than MJ. Though they are so different so it's all a matter of taste. It's hard for me to compare those two. As I said, imo P is way better than MJ and therefore I like his SB performance much more. It's far more passionate, gripping, real to me.
Some perfer MJ's style, some Prince's. Some like Mariah better than Whitney. And so on. Can you dig it?

You know, looking back on this particular halftime performance, I am kinda iffy on what I think about it now. Keep in mind that when he did this, he was the biggest star on the planet. He had just signed a $1 billion dollar deal and was about to do some really big things. After this Super Bowl gig, it was all over. Not to mention, this would be OJ's last go-round as a commentator. Spooky.

Not only was Prince's performance far superior to MJ's train wreck, more people were watching this year than when MJ performed.
Prince is a brilliant musician. Michael Jackson isn't.

He didnt perform on Arsenio, because he was too big for Arsenio. too big to perform on late night shows. Big enough to play current tracks on his album at the superbowl though.

Once his new album drops, he will be at the very least, as big as he was back in 2001. You'll see. biggrin

MJ gets on my nerves when he lip synchs, he moves the head and lips like we don't know he's actually lip synching, hey JACKO i have the same track at home on cd!!!

and when he lip synched in '01 on that concert when he was with his brothers and then he kept covering up his face like he was going to just vomit all over the audience for 3 hours frustrated the hell out of me!!! pissed
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
