U must be kidding. If Prince adverstises a performance tomorrow in any city in the U.S. it would sell out in an hour.....

Well, that sure as hell didn't happen in Vegas!! Maybe the tickets will only be $31.21 this time? razz

So it's July again, not early August? biggrin

Maybe it's closed 2 get ready for the TOUR?..... Maybe?

confuse He never had to close his site to prepare for previous tours! The member presales have for years been a centerpiece of the NPGMC, and one aspect of the Club that Prince seemed very diligent about keeping up with, even after new music became increasingly rare on there. To the point that some described it as a ticket club rather than a music club!

Do you mean he's revamping the presale process, or completely redesigning the site around the upcoming tour? Just trying to understand you here!
[Edited 7/12/06 5:10am]

Actually I think he might be refering to the speculation that P closed the site...just to reopen it up and charge people again to become members and get tix. I think that's what he was aiming for. I just don't see how that could happen as it would take a few weeks to get all the memebers back on board again. Unless Prince is still going to keep all previous memberships somehow.

Then again, the word is that the site was closed due to legal action and not due to the tour thing as we had suspected.

Prince Abruptly Closes Official Web Site
Posted Jul 11th 2006 5:34PM by TMZ Staff

Prince's official Web site, NPGMusicClub.com, closed suddenly last week with no advanced notice. The club simply sent around an email that said, in part, they decided to "put the club on hiatus until further notice."

The announcement went on to say, "In its current [form] there is a feeling that the NPGMC gone as far as it can go." It ended, "The future holds nothing but endless opportunity and we plan on seizing it wholeheartedly. Don't u want 2 come?"

In a possibly related story, Prince filed for a trademark on the mark "NPG Music Club" last year. An opposition was filed against that claim by HM Publishers Holding Limited, which owns the Nature Publishing Group, or NPG. The opposition was filed on the same day that NPGMusicClub.com was put on "hiatus."
An attorney for Prince's company, Paisley Park Enterprises, told TMZ that the two incidents were not related, to the best of his knowledge, and that the "opposition will be resolved shortly."

Prince has been one of the pioneers of music on the Internet. He was the first major artist to release an entire album -- 1997's "Crystal Ball" -- exclusively on the Web. The NPG Music Club had boasted several full-length CDs of music that were unavailable anywhere else.

He was honored last month with a Webby Lifetime Achievement Award. "Besides being a musical genius, Prince is a visionary who recognized early on that the web would completely change how we experience music," said Tiffany Shlain, founder of The Webby Awards. "For more than a decade, he has tapped the power of the Web to forge a deeper connection with his fans and push the boundaries of technology and art."

on this thread: http://www.prince.org/msg...4742?&pg=2 the legal action is not related to the closing of NPGMC.

Between that thread, this thread, and the "real" reason Prince has been silent thread I think everyone's going a lil' nutty Where are the hip replacement verified, Mani gives birth (finally!), and Cat's whereabouts now known threads? lol

I'm the one who posted the part about the aiport phone conversation. I searched and searched for that f'ing thread but it seems to have disappeared... hmm I thought you had said Prince called you from an airport; I apologize if I misquoted you; but will you admit that you did post a thread claiming you had a convo. with P. where he told you about 5 different things that were in the works--including remastering or re-recording all his albums, some sort of deluxe box set Christmas release, etc. etc? (Can anyone find that thread?)

So far nothing from that (now MIA) thread has come to fruition so you have to understand why many of us are skeptical about your most recent "insider info". Not trying to be a bitch, but like JediMaster said, 90% of the time these types of posts are bogus so of course people are going to be doubtful.

No, I'm not confused. Graycap23 posted the thread about the 'REAL' reason Prince has been silent and never has an avatar pic. I haven't been able to figure out yet from his posts what kind of industry/occupation he's in. But I think Giovanni777 is a musician of some sort based on his suggestions for Prince's Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful demo and the fact that he chose Miko and best guitarist in the Mike Scott v. ??? (I forgot who the other choice was). I remember b/c I chose Miko too and you posted that we were confusing Miko & Mike. wink

Seriously, People HAVE [said this has] had this happen and they swear up and down it was really him. I've been asked if there is some prankster here preying on the "romatics".

Only a couple of isolated cases that I've heard of.

Haven't heard of any since the "purple ticket party." But now NPGMC isn't around to bring us those scintillating reports by Violet Brown. So how will we find out which celebs got to listen to Prince jam at his house while we didn't!? omfg

I predict a big tour that kicks off right around the time Tamar's album comes out. Then the website will open at 3121.com and Tamar's album will be given away at the shows, with the cost added on to the ticket price. It will be smaller than Musicology but still large.

I just found out that i may be going out of town on the 21st.... might be gone for a few days.

Here's my question: Do you think anything with the tour might happen that weekend....like if the tour starts at then end of july...do you think tickets will be out that weekend of the 21st?

I don't want to miss anything! I've been wanting this tour to start forever.
yes thumbs up!

I know I'll be out of the country at the end of month/beginning of month of Aug. If I hear anything, I'm going to have to have someone get my tix for me as long as it ain't like "I'm in your city...tomorrow...come and get a ticket"
