That fool betta not start a tour without an official fan club and a way for his hardcore fanbase to get the best seats. Because I'll be DAMNED if I'm going back to TicketBastard to get another Prince ticket again.

Around the Love 4 One Another, Jam Of The Year, New Powersoul tours, I was in D.C. I was on Prince's guest list, because of Rhonda, who was mostly using Warwick basses at the time. I was at the slammin' Capitol Ballroom afterparty.

Anyway... This was before the Music Club member seating. When I went to Will Call once in Baltimore, they thought I was out of my mind when I said "I'm on the guestlist"...

Without boring U with the stories, my point is this: back then, U didn't know what seats you'd get... Sometimes close, sometimes far. That was exciting. It's great 2 be close, and I like 2 see the people play, as I was at least once back then, and was after the club tickets 4 the Musiclology tour. But essentially, I am there mainly 2 hear the music.

This is not 2 say that I'd most definately love 2 be right up front 4 the smaller, more intimate gigs...I will always regret not being able 2 make it 2 the One Night Alone gigs. But don't complain people. Live is what it's all about no matter where U sit... as long as your ears R open.

Peace.

Yeah from 84-97, I stressed, spent the night, waited in huge lines.....and usually didn't get too great of seats.

But the club has been AWESOME on the ticket front.....soundchecks, and I got 1st, 3rd and 4th row for Musicology.

Based on Graycap23's rep and the fact that I've never seen him spew bullshit, I tend to believe this post. Now, Prince can have the best of intentions when it comes to stuff, and a lot of it never pans out, so if not all of what GC has posted comes to fruition, I'd put it on Prince. And, it seems like at the end of this month/beginning of next month that actual news about a tour will be released and not necessarily that the tour itself will start at this time. Also, based on some things/rumors I've heard, that band line-up sounds about right. At any rate, thanks for the news Graycap. If some things turn out to be wrong, you won't be getting a bullet from me (e.g. shooting the messenger)! wink

"The tour starts in July. The U.S. will be the 1st leg."

http://www.prince.org/msg/7/191009

Or has there been an update? I recall a more recent post from GC saying the tour would start the first week of August.

If it's starting in July, shouldn't we have heard SOMETHING by now? confuse

BTW, Gray said Sheila E. would be in the band, but her tour with Ringo runs through July 20, then she's scheduled to be in Japan 8-13 August for some "Chronicles Of Every Diva" shows... http://www.sheilae.com/tour/index.shtml

In general, I wonder what effect will the indefinite postponement of Tamar's album have on Prince's plans? http://www.prince.org/msg/5/195891

shrug

4 those whom have clues
And those who don’t
Maybe u will
But more like u won’t

Tell me the truth
And I’ll give u the word
Close your eyes
U won’t believe what u have heard

But I’m still here
And willing 2 share
I have not gone away
As if U care

Come closer my friend
Let me tell u a story
This is NOT the end
Of the Purple ones glory

It’s just the beginning
Of something totally in range
Talk about the irony
Of Beautiful Strange

Open up a glass and
Take on the pure
The man is about 2 drop
A brand new TOUR

If it's a Hit n Run tour ,what venues would he normally play?

I live near Chicago, so maybe a small club?

I've never seen Prince and will call off work as necessary.

Yep I'm naughty.

Really? So what's the first stop? US, Europe?
But then again there's been rumors about a tour brewing since 2005, so it's not really any new information. I read in an article some time ago it would be in the summer, so not surprised.

During the time Te Amo Corazon came out and the video for it, I remember someone posted part of the interview where he stated it will be with "old friends" so Sheila, Wendy, Lisa being part of the tour wouldn't surprise me. Guess I'll "wait and see" like his lawyer said.

Suggestion: Somebody start an apology thread now so that by the time the tour is announced and/or tix are being sold, people will not be tied up on the org trying to get all their, "oh thanks for the info's" out . . . .just a suggestion nuts

Finally! Something more than just cryptic riddles. Granted it's not much to go on, but its something.

Thanks.
