LISTEN UP - ALL OF YOU.

You have all been warned a number of times on this board by both Luv4U and myself not to request illegal copies of this song. If this behaviour continues this thread WILL be locked - the same applies for any other thread.

Persistant offenders can expect temp bans, which I shall happily dish out to all who want one.

I'm really not joking, so sharpen up.

SO FOR THE LAST TIME:
DO NOT REQUEST ILLEGAL COPIES OF BLACK SWEAT.

I have to admit, after having listened to it about 12 times on repeat, that this song sounds pretty good. I'm anxious to hear what the rest of 3121 is going to sound like.

To repost "Black Sweat is Bob George Reincarnated."

And its a good thing. You could play them back to back, one with a funny evil rap and this one with a falsetto P.

But, behind it all is 'the track'..... the track as in "housequake" "Kiss", and "Bob George", i.e., the funky-P style mix.

Since Horny Toad and Irresistible Bitch, I've been dying for a B-Side that had the power of these two songs. Black Sweat really is the kind of track I would have expected to be a b-side back in the day. Scores of music writers have written over the years how Prince's early b-sides would make one awesome album. So, it's ironic that after years of what most consider a lesser quality of pop and R&B songs, Prince has reclaimed the raw, powerful funk in the form of his b-side glory days and I'm loving every handclap of it!

Yeah, agreed.

I wouldn't knock this song as being too commercial, because its not.

It won't be a hit IMO, but it is a GOOD Prince song for once.

Mercedes, fulfill a new fantasy for me (recent thought after hearing the song).
Just say that U your dancing to this in a g-string now.

The repeating synth part at the beginning is ok, but ehhhhh.

I like the old fashioned bass drum sound.

Its sounds like someone doing a bad copy of the Prince sound.

On the plus side, his voice at the beginning sound as good as ever.
No one ever lets you down as hard as your heroes, the mans legacy is some big ass shoes to fill, maybe I have unrealistic expectations to think he could go on forever creating mind blowing tunes.

Hey, if it ships with a 2nd track (b-side) on the single that sounds like Controversy, now things will really be flipped around.. smile

hmmm ...I thought it sounded promising from the moment I heard the title, but I have yet to hear the song itself... Should I wait until SNL (is he going to play it then?) or until next week--or should I hint for some kind org soul to take pity on me and orgnote me a link? batting eyes

I sort of feel like if I listen to it now it will ruin the hype and that I should wait to digest it on my own with the cd and my stereo. Kind of like when you see a movie that everyone's raving about and you leave all confuse

What to do, what to do...

I'm glad to see a lot of people liking it--seems like a lot of the recent stuff gets no love from the fans...

okay, it's late and I'm rambling...
