Well, since I've changed jobs my life has become a bit busy. Sounds like a great jam, I'll have to wait until the official release.

Prince has been stellar live lately, but his studio work has too often sounded sedate in contrast.

Greatness like “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”, the Super Bowl, the acoustic set on MTV and the SNL performances were all live and you had to make your own damn recordings.

Now, for at least a few short songs, his production skills in the studio are matching his tremendous live skills.

For all I know the rest of “Planet Earth” will be as flat as Twiggy, but this rocks in a completely genuine way that he hasn’t in countless. The chorus is as strikingly straight forward as people said he still could be.

Simply one of his finest rock moments in a commercial setting. Certainly his finest that mixes in country without making you feel ill. Like all great music, grows better with age.

Don’t get me wrong, I thought he was brilliant with “Rainbow”, but those songs weren’t exactly accessible to the wider audience. These 3 or 4 songs here are. But I will never extrapolate. Maybe these are the only songs on the album that I'll end up liking.

Just as long as he appears free, how about some real funk? Haven't heard that in ages either.

The lyrics to “The One You Wanna See” and “Guitar” are silly fun, just like “Peach” or “Take Me With You”. Some people never get too old to have silly fun. I truly hope that list includes me.

If you want intelligence, it can be found on “FBM” (despite the title that would lead one in the complete opposite direction).

Some (probably even Prince himself) would be wise to take some of these words to heart. Don’t just repeat them – live them, especially the last couple of paragraphs.

And besides, after awhile, that chorus just bounces like a Beemer going over a speed bump. It’s smooth as hell; at least in R&B circles.

Hmm... well, if the 3 songs I've heard so far are any indication then this may be his most satisfying disc yet this decade. It sounds like Prince is just being himself, rather than like Prince trying to sound like what people think he should sound like, if you know what I mean.
