since you're giving these each one point, i'm not listing my 25 in order of how much i like them, but rather how much i remember obsessing over them throughout my life. some of these albums i'm completely burnt out on...some of them are still part of my daily diet:

alright that was really hard!
I tried to push myself to not just think of my current faves. Therefore albums like NIN and the Femmes made this list at the expense of others I listen to much more frequently. But those are albums that really changed MY world and the way I listened to music. And, they had a pretty big impact on the music world itself. Although they are overplayed, I will admit when I do get inspired to put either of these back in the player, they hold up QUITE well. And, I HATE that I have no Dolly on my list. But, I didn't really want to put "Dolly Parton, Greatest hits vol 1 published by Columbia in 1984" or something like that  She has SO many hits packages it that it's near impossible now to find many of her classic albums in original format. And, while I LOVE her recent Bluegrass work, none of those quite merit this list. So yeah, while Dolly may not be on my list, I'd like to just give HER 100 points | |

I just made my final edit to this list. I'm not allowed to do that again. After some contemplation, I had to place Primal Scream's Screamadelica on this list in place of Vanishing Point. Screamadelica was just TOO important of a record to not be mentioned on my list. It totally changed my perceptions of what music could be and really pushed forward the blurring of the lines between rock and dance/techno music. It was a staple on my music rotation for near 5 years. And if there is a finer album to listen to while trippin balls, I have yet to find it | |

purple pills Alright, I loves you and all and have mad respect for your musical knowledge. But why SHOULDN'T we be able to vote for Prince CDs since for most of us, he is likely in our top 50 albums? Scanning these lists quickly, while he is well represented it's not like every list is ALL the prince CDs and only a few other albums. There's a lot of diversity here naturally. | |

oh crud, i didn't put any bjork on my list...but again, she's someone who has a ton of great songs i love, but i don't know if i'd consider a specific album as a WHOLE to be a "top favorite"...i love a big chunk of "vespertine" and most of "homogenic", and everything else is just kind of a scattering of songs here and there that i like. i wouldn't even consider a greatest hits album a favorite, because my own "greatest hits" of bjork aren't necessarily singles...ah well, tra la la... | |
