shuffles away to start thinking about it.....

was just about 2 say i'm surprised to not see Bob Marley in one of these lists.

That's why I hate lists. I have sooo many more albums that I adore, you know? I LOVE Bob Marley. I could have easily put "Natty Dread" on there, or Marley Live. Easy add ons;

The Beatles/Revolver
Bobby Womack/Understanding
Stevie Wonder/Innervisions
Ohio Players/Fire
Marvin Gaye/What's Goin' On?
Marvin Gaye/I Want You
Miles Davis/Agartha

I mean, I can go on and on as far as crucial ass albums go.
Sly Stone/Fresh

I'm going to start crunching numbers on Friday, so submit/edit your list by then. It may take a while to finish.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, I think this will be the definitive list to end all lists!

How are you going to assign numbers to the votes that say "in no particular order"?

I'm glad you mentioned that. There's a couple options:

1. They could still assign an order.

2. I could assume that since they listed one album first it's a subconscious #1.

3. I could choose to not use their lists

4. But I think the fairest way would be to give each album they listed an equal number of points--like the minimum 26 maybe. Assume it's a 25 way tie.

You might get off easier by just counting the number of times an album is picked in general.

Just a thought for easy-cipherin'. wink

What kind of music is it? It's curious to see things among people's favorites that I've never heard of. You explained that it's not that you think it's "greater than Sgt Pepper," but you obviously like it a lot, and I have no clue about it.

Bif Naked does, or used to do anyway, radio friendly punk-pop/new wave. Not unlike No Doubt I guess. Her lyrics aren't very deep which seems to be the main criticism, but there are so many hooks on that 'I Bificus' record that I couldn't stop listening to it when I got it a few years ago. Her latest album leans more towards metal which I don't like as much: http://www.myspace.com/bifnaked
