Yeah, plus lots of people just probably jumped to the gay/bi conclusion because of his own open marriage remarks. If anyone is to blame it is Will for saying that kind of crap to a reporter. It is one thing to do that type of stuff in your own marriage, but why you gotta air the dirty laundry? eek

Among Hollywood types, it's usually done to prevent something from hitting the fan...

Exactly. notice that every time Will is in public , like on an awards show or something, he makes some remark about banging Jada. Why does he constantly say this ??? Methinks thou doth protest too much .....

One final word about this topic and I'll shut up.

I happen to know Mr. Smith; so far, I've never seen anything to indicate that he's gay.

If he is, he's the World's Greatest Actor.

Do you see anybody accusing Denzel of being gay ? Or Spike Lee ? Or Michael jordan ? Colin Powell ? Ray Nagin ? Lenny Kravitz ?

You want to live in a fantasy world about heterosexuality, go ahead. There have been rumors about all of them. I'm not saying anything one way or the other about their sexuality, just that they've all been questioned. John Travolta won a law suit in the 70s after somebody claimed he was his former lover. It's not my fault you didn't know that.

Wishful thinking? rolleyes Yes, laura, we're recruiting. You're next, so watch out. We're gonna staple pictures of Rosie O'Donnell and Martina Navratalova to the head board of your bed. You are kidding, right? All those dudes have had RAMPANT rumours about their sexuality! Travolta more than ANYONE on that list has had an avalanche of tabloid rumours claiming he was gay (he's also had several men come out and claim that they were his former lovers). Affleck and Damon's rumours got so out of control that they got to where they joked about it in public.

I'll also add to the list the following:

Keanu Reeves & River Phoenix (both were rumored to have had an affair with one another while on the set of My Private Idaho).
Mick Jagger (rumoured to have had a gay affair with David Bowie).
Kenney Chesney (rumour has it that Renee Zelwegger divorced him when she found out he was all about the cock).
Robbie Williams
Larry Mullen Jr of U2 (another celeb who heard so many rumours about himself he started making jokes about it in interviews).
Jodie Foster
Olivia Newton John (this one was big in the early 80s)
Jamie Lee Curtis
Brad Pitt & Antonio Banderas (Some claimed they were doing it during Interview With The Vampire)
Richard Gere (with Alvin, Simon and Theadore)

As for Will, hey, who knows? I never got that vibe, and I've always assumed the rumour came from his convincing portrayal in Six Degrees of Separation. Most of these celeb rumours are probably just BS, but some may be true. I think it has everything to do with fame, and little to do with race. There are plenty of other examples of racism in the media without having to concoct theories like this one.

I don't think those with racist agendas in the media (and I DO believe they exist) are trying to attack black male sexuality. In fact, I think the opposite is true. I think they are trying to PLAY IT UP. This cements the "all blacks are hornballs who will rape your women" mentality. To claim these guys were gay would render this idiotic stereotype useless, thus negating their agenda.

"OPENLY" is the operative word here. My point, if you can understand it, is that men like Eddie and Will have to be way in the closet to suceed in this country. This has absolutely nothing to do with racism, which I truly believe does still exist in this country. Or do you believe what that brilliant philospher Ice Cube said : "Real niggas can't be gay" ?

(and do you really believe that Eddie Murphy just "happened" to be giving a lift to a stranger at 3AM in his $60,000 car who just "happened" to turn out to be a pre-op trannsexual ? )

According to Will....

I read somewhere that you said you had an open marriage. If that’s true, can I get Jada’s number?

I never said that I had an open marriage. What I said is that our relationship is based on 100% truth. That, no matter what, there’s never going to be something that I would say or do that I wouldn’t tell her first. And then the interviewer said, well, what if you were with Eva Mendes and you wanted to … I said, well, I would say to my wife—if that situation presented itself—I would say, “Honey, I want to sleep with Eva Mendes, is that OK?” And, you know, she’d probably say no. But the point was, how can you expect to be successful in a relationship if you’re not telling your partner the 100% truth? The fact that the interviewer could take that in the direction he took it showed me where he is in his relationship, you know?

This crap about Will came from a tabloid.

First of alll, can you explain "get your panties out a bunch?" Do you mean "get them out a lot?" You really should work on your English. Otherwise, I don't know what to make of that request. I don't wear panties, so I can't get them "out a bunch." Did you know that not all gay men wear panties? It's true (LOL).

Please, tell me two things:
1 - What agenda am I pushing?
2 - You said it was wishful thinking on my part. Please, tell me, why do I wish they were gay? I'm not being facetious, I really would like to know why I wish they were gay. You seem to be of the mindset that anytime anyone gay comments on somebody's sexuality, they're "recruting." I rarely comment on somebody's supposed sexuality, and I haven't dont so in this thread. There's no harm in somebody else doing it if they want. I'd like to know where you're coming from (LOL).

And, yes, there is homophobia at the roots of your comments. You may wish to believe otherwise, but it's there. Just as I think the entire culture of the USA has bigoted notions about race, I think the same applies to sexuality. And I mean EVERYONE, some more than others. You seem to think you're so enlightened, but just because light gleams out your pupils after bouncing around that empy head of yours doesn't mean you're enlightened. THAT was facetious (LOL).

laurarichardson said:

You can't get it through that head of yours, can you? Maybe you're not paying attention enough to know that there are rumors about many people's sexuality (LOL).

Stop making a fool out of yourself. You can count the number of openly gay famous black men on one hand.

That much is true. So don't you think there are more gay black men than the ones that are out? Why is it so damn disgraceful to you when others speculate about black men's sexuality? Just because you think being a black gay man is a negative - or even assuming that somebody is a gay black male is a bad thing - doesn't mean it is. You say you aren't homophobic and then make some stupid ass comment like "I could give two shits about what goes on in Gay Culture." Some words speak louder than others. You really aren't as intelligent as you'd like to think you are.

I could give two shits about what goes on in Gay Culture. I am not homophobic because I have better things to do with my time.

No, you're not homophobic at all. rolleyes And apparently you don't have anything better to do with your time, cuz here the fuck you are!

I know a dead horse when I see one, and you are that. You can have the last word on this one...(LOL)

My response would be "HELL TO THE NAW"

and if you need to do all that shit, then you need to stay single.

While in a commitment with someone, i'll be damned before i have to "share" my man with the other women that he sees fit to fuck. i'm sorry but that's just foolish....

If all you're basing a relationship on is the fact that you only do the dirty with each other, that's pretty fucking sad, if you ask me. Be open or monogamous, just play it safe. Trust should be more important in a relationship than exclusivity.

A couple with an open relationship is no less "maried" or "in love" or "together" than a couple that isn't. hmph!

I heard about this a while back no big whoop hell monogamy is a social construct anyway. If they are both cool with it there really should be no problem. Another note, who cares if he's gay, bi or any point in between. If he is more power to him. I don't see why everyone is making such a big deal of this. I guess we are all Puritans at heart... lol

nod

The way people are reacting to this, you'd think Will and Jada were violating some intrinsic law of nature or something. lol It's not human nature to be monogamous. We made the whole damn thing up.

Monogamy, I think, stems from insecurity and mistrust. If people are secure in their love for one another and everyone's playing it safe sexually, there's nothing wrong with an open relationship.

I actually find it kind of disturbing when I see people get mad at their mate for even looking at someone else. Just strikes me as pathetic and desperate. Even if you've got a exclusive relationship, it's sad. Just smacks of insecurity.
