What did you all think of the band (not NPG) the Grupo Fantasmo or whatever their name is? I never even notice the twins so I can't tell you what they were doing. Prince and Sheila outdid themselves. Renato as well. I didn't care for Grupo Fantasma when they were at the Hard Rock but their horns added a lot to Get On The Boat tonight. Don't forget that Prince's horns were in there too. Wow that was really fucking good! TV doesn't always capture the excitement of a Prince show, but that definitely did.
His arrangements & song choices were perfect for the evening, too. To those that knock him using horns so much, here was one time it really really made sense. Plus it's nice to hear "new" stuff instead of Purple Rain again. The Word was almost unrecognizeable, but I really thought it rocked. The arrangements are so damn tight! They're so complex. Even more than a couple years ago when he was doing stuff like The Everlasting Now. I can't imagine playing in his band. I'd be tripping all over myself. The only place where I felt it lost energy was the beginning of Glamorous Life, but then Sheila's solo was amazing. Nice job, I didn't expect it to be that good. My Legacy
