I was taking a nap and an Angel  came and told me to get up and go turn on the TV before I miss everything....I had the tv on right when Prince was ending The Word saying "Get Up Come On Lets Do Something!!! |

Three other observations...
1. Who was he refrencing when he came back up on stage from the audience and said..."It's your boy" to Sheila and she cracked up. Than Prince backed up and shot a pool stick at the dude in the audience or in jest...one of the two! So was the man he is talking about? 2. When they break to go to piano why is Prince never on this instrument anymore? I know Relato is tops but it still aint P! And dont get me wrong I have loved him being on the guitar ALOT lately but a little piano once in a whiloe would be nice 3. The crowd was going so nusto at the end they edited the next guest - they had to take a break after that one -everyone was a little shell shock!in a good way  The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

That performane was hot! I LOVED hearing The Word performed. It took the song to a whole other level for me! Get on the Boat was great, the best live version of the song that I've heard and The Glamourous Life, how can one hate that song? That song will always kick my butt. The crowd was weird to me but the got hyped when P went into the audience and when Prince and Sheila did TGL. Great performance. I have to find a way out to L.A. this summer, no doubt! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

IMO..;.the crowd got more hyped for The Glamorous Life cuz they KNEW the song, I don't think too many of them were familiar with The Word and Get on the Boat, which were outstandingly performed btw.....but that is what I thought....
I can watch this performance over and over and over and over. I have it recorded...it is awesome, I have loved Sheila E 4ever and Prince, well U know how I feel about him   | |

After playing guitar, and then watching the ALMA throwdown again, twice, I now say the mix was perfect... guitar was perfect... not 2 low in the mix. My God... the lighting, the twinz, cora, the merging of Grupo + NPG, horn arrangements, Prince (on vox and guitar), and... SHEILA... on top of mix kickin it in RARE form (even 4 her)... song selection, tempos, arrangements... and the exit, WITH the arrangement of "Love Bizarre" (particularly the horn arrangement there)... This may be my fav TV performance of all... and I'm an old-school head. DAG. P nailed it. "He's a musician's musician..." |

Prince looked awesome
Sheila, beautyfull through and through i loved that Prince performed "The Word" but unless you already knew the song how would anyone be able to decipher what he was saying?? kinda made the song worthless, imosho all in all, a fun exciting performance as a whole hopefully "The Word" gets another chance to shine in time | |
