VH1 Classic made a bad move by playing "Prince of Paisley Park" at the same time as the show. I was flipping back and forth between them cuz I missed the first 15 minutes last it was on...

You would think that he'd be the last one there. I turn at 9:15 during commerical break and there he is... going on to "Get on the Boat"

I certainly wouldn't recommend bouncing between his past and him at present... it took me so long to get used to him just being there.
But I was so in awe that I wasn't really paying attention to anything but him... heh, I liked the moment where he took his sunglasses off so I could see his eyes.

And I was kinda mad at myself cuz I figured he'd come back at the end... but didn't... I really hate when he does the unexpected, u'd think they'd save him for last cuz he IS THE BEST... not that his music is very Latino in nature.

edit: I just caught it online somewhere... he put a latin twist on "The Word" which was pretty cool... I kinda wish i didnt miss out on it the first time, but w/e

Okay here's my take.. it was a little over the top. There was too much goin on. P and Sheila looked great and they seemed to be having a real good time. Sheila tore it up. P's guitar playing was spectacular as usual but still there was too much going on!

No - the weather here has been a bit cooler than usual out here. Not humid at all. And I for one thinks she looks awesome - the Silly 70's party for one recent idea. But last night she looked tired. Ok--so here's my husband's comments:

Is that a POOCH I see??? Yep--A POOCH---just like mine!!! Prince is catching up with me! Oh, and is that a love handle? YES SUH, I think it is!

But, I really like these versions. His musical abilities are of course stellar, but "your boy" is gettin fat and can't do the splits anymore.

Get on the boat had a really odd tempo to it. didn't flow as well at that tempo. part of me think sit was intentional to flow with the rest of the music, but at the same time, it sounded so out of place, it is hard for me to imagine it being intentional.

do you think that was intentional? if not, which drummer do you think is responsible for setting the tempo, Sheila or Cora?

Prince was AMAZING! The Word was awesome and Get on the Boat was great 2. Sheila was really good! I thought those drumsticks were gonna fly outta her hands @ some point. [And Prince and Sheila held hands the whole way walking down the aisle!!! A sign of things to come?] Was it just me or did the other performances pale in comparison? I mean really, Prince was the only one that went into the audience and got everyone dancing. And... Beyonce needs to stick to singing in English .

Overall, great award show. I desperately took pictures of the TV while Prince was performing- but the pics came out bad so I wont post them. I hope someone does post pics.
